I don't mean to make fun of people suffering from FAS (Foreign Accent Syndrome)... they shouldn't be shunned or jeered... But every second person doesn't have it, do they? Its very rare, according to wikipedia ... And I've not been rude to anyone deliberately, no matter how annoying they sound.
I also find it extremely irritating when girls whine and talk in baby voices (well, supposedly.. they don't sound anything like an original one anyway, so it must be poor imitation). You can bear it for a while, but there comes a time when its no longer cute.
I'm not talking about anyone in particular, but oh my god, I find it difficult to keep my mouth shut sometimes, so I just (well I try) to move away, unnoticed. I really don't want to hurt anyone, but sometimes it feels as if they're doing it deliberately to annoy you..
Okay, I know you don't want to hear me rambling on about things I don't like... Thanks for bearing with me!

I know exactly what you mean when you say annoying when it is put on.

i think it's just normal to get annoyed when someone does that... because well, it's really annoying! :|
ReplyDelete@PAPS - Thanks for your comment! :)
ReplyDeleteHazel - you bet...
Had never heard of foreign accent syndrome, but I know exactly what you mean. The label explains a lot!
ReplyDeleteHey!
ReplyDeleteThanks for following!
Haha, I love a good rant post :). But I have to admit I may have once been one of those people, I have a kind of empathetic accent and recently I came back from an American style University in Japan after being there for 6 months I was speaking with all the wrong intonation. My boyfriend HATED me, ha! I'm ashamed to say that even now I still call an insect a bug but, insect just seems like so much effort.
I need a slap on the wrist! xxx
hahah! I'm probably guilty of the tryna make cutesy sounds but only infronta my bf!!! hahaha :P I'm quite composed in the presence of others ;)
ReplyDeleteI can do a British accent (my relatives in London always use it for entertainment, haha).
ReplyDeleteUGH, the baby voice is the most annoying! I know people who have voices that are permanently baby voices (they get teased for that, though so muhaha!)
@Sarah - hi! thanks for coming over! And btw, I once started doing a really weird accent, but then I had to get out of it asap. My real voice maybe irritating (hell yea!) but at least its real and not fake ;P
ReplyDeletehaha so cute Kay!
Dana Lee - Nice! Lol I mean no one should get teased for their voice, but I mean it's unique and makes you different. BUT its irritating when someone puts it on! hah! and the baby voice...
It is annoying. So why apologize when you get annoyed! P.S. Stuff we don't like make great post material .. in my experience :)
